Plenty of us dislike spiders particularly with those creepy eyes staring at us, those eight legs ready to pounce at any second.
You may encounter one while watching tv, until it quickly scatters under the couch before you’ve had a chance to even make up your mind if you’re to get rid of it or not.
But you would hope your arachnophobia hasn’t led you to crash your vehicle, because one woman in America had recently done it.
To be afraid of spiders isn’t unusual. For obvious reasons. Police in Cairo, New York, uploaded a photo of the woman’s wrecked car on Facebook, saying she had seen a spider while driving and ‘panicked’.
From the crash the woman injured her leg .As you ca see, her car was damaged, too.
The post read: “Thank you again for the help Cairo Fire, Cairo Ambulance, Greene County Medics and Greene County Sheriffs.
“After investigating today’s crash on Silver Spur Road we feel it necessary to bring up a contributing factor that is not covered too often. It is believed that the operator of the vehicle noticed a SPIDER in the drivers area with her as she was driving. “The operator panicked and crashed suffering a leg injury from the crash.”
Arachnophobic drivers try not to let their fear become life-threatening, the post added: “We know that it is easier for some drivers than others but please, try to teach new drivers and yourselves to overcome the fear and pull over to a safe place. Lives depend on it.“
Social media users said on the comments of the post to say they could relate with what happened to the woman.
One wrote: “I almost did the same thing luckily I was where I could pull over. It was in my blouse I never tore a blouse off faster, my husband was with me and he’s yelling ‘what are you doing??’ I’m screaming ‘spider’.”Anyway it happens and until it happens to you can’t say you wouldn’t do that. I am hoping the lady recovers.”
Another made a remark saying : “I have panicked with a spider that came down in front of me, Thankfully I didn’t crash. My daughter’s car, mice found their way in. Now my big fear is a mouse running over me while driving – hoping it never happens! Hope she’ll be ok.”
Another said: “Glad she is ok. That could be me, I’ve had to pull over suddenly and do a search. The fear is real.“There’s currently no confirmation on whether or not the spider made it out of the wreckage alive.”
