If you haven’t come across the term porch pirates we will fill you in. They have become increasingly common these days. You hear stories of strangers swiping Amazon boxes filled with birthday gifts for loved ones.

The following porch pirate however, stole something so valuable it could have been a matter of life or death for this 14-year-old boy.

Gage Haynes of Summerlin, Nevada, was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called systemic mastocytosis at 6 months old.

The young boy has spent most of his life in and out of the hospital, struggling to find treatments which help him feel better.

Shakala recently found exactly what they’d been looking for: a new chemotherapy medicine called Rydapt, for Gage.

Gage’s condition affects his school attendance and grades so he takes eight Rydapt pills every day and which help ease the symptoms.

Shakala worked so hard to afford his prescription. “I did financial assistance because it costs $40,000 a month because it’s not FDA approved for anyone under 18,” she explains.

In February 2019, an unnamed man was caught stealing two packages right off their porch in broad daylight.

These boxes contained Gage’s crucial and expensive chemotherapy medicine. Gage has now shared a public plea for the man to return the goods.
