Plenty acts of terror claim and disasters make headlines each day, but many stories remain that restore our faith in humanity.
Take this man Army Lt. Col. Robert Risdon, who went to Taco Bell recently to eat dinner.
Once he sat down to eat dinner, two young boys entered o the restaurant selling homemade desserts in an effort to raise money for their local church.
He noticed the boys were frozen, wet and hungry when asked if they had anything to eat they said no.
Another customer, who was so impressed by Lt. Col. Risdon’s actions that he posted the clip to Facebook and is encouraging others to share it.
Army Lt. Col. Robert Risdon is currently stationed in Fort Benning, Georgia. and a father of two children.
One day he saw two wet and cold looking young boys walk into Taco Bell looking and he asked them if they’d eaten dinner.
They informed him that they hadn’t, so he took it upon himself to go that extra mile.
His next action was fortunately caught on camera by another customer named Jason.
Jason then uploaded a post to Facebook, accompanied by footage that read:
“I was in a taco bell tonight when two kids came in trying to sell homemade desserts for money.
“I overheard a soldier ask the kids if they were hungry and told them to follow him to the counter, he would buy them dinner. I had to video it and share. Our troops are always taking care of us. Thank u LTC Robert Risdon please please share this….I heard the little one say I want to be just like u when I grow up and saluted him.”
The act was something Lt. Col. Risdon doesn’t deem worthy of any special praise.
He explains: “I’m kinda embarrassed and humbled by the praise and don’t need it. I am a believer that we live in the best country in the world with the best people and that acts of kindness happen every day.”
People who have seen the story on the internet disagree the vast majority of them seem to disagree.
The general consensus is that Lt. Col. Risdon should be placed in the spotlight for his actions, which is certainly something we can get behind!
If you were moved by his kind actions then please SHARE this post with your friends on Facebook to encourage others.
