A day prior to Halloween, three Indiana siblings tragically lost their lives.
While they crossed the road to get on their school bus a pickup truck ploughed into them.
Another bus stop which has occurred since which left three more kids and two grown-ups with serious wounds.
The children and adults were waiting at a Tampa, Florida, bus stop before being hit by a speeding car.
The incident occurred around 8:10 a.m. Parents remained with their children when the speeding auto hit five of them.
An ambulance rushing to the scene collided into a vehicle at an intersection harming a firefighter inside the vehicle.
Tampa Police Chief Brian Dugan explains the scene was “chaotic,” bag packs and shoes were scattered all over the place and a few were harmed.
The children’s names have not been released, are aged between 6 and 12 years old. They were taken to the local hospital, alongside two harmed adults.
One of the children is allegedly in critical condition. The driver of the vehicle has been taken into custody, however police have not given his name or the details behind the accident.
This is the third bus stop related episode this week.
In expansion to the Indiana mishap that occurred on Tuesday, there was a kid killed in Mississippi as he crossed the road to board his bus.
Nine-year-old Dalen Thomas was hit by a truck as he crossed the road to get to his transport stop.
Hunter Newman, of Marietta, Mississippi,aged 22 who was driving the truck has been accused of aggravated assault.
Parents are left shaken and furious following the incident.
Investigations of the three cases are being carried out that will hopefully address the safety concerns that resulted in these awful accidents.
In the mean time, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration issued a reminder to drivers this morning that school is in session.
“which means children playing and congregating near bus stops. Slow down when driving through neighborhoods, and watch for children who may be walking or biking to a bus stop or school.”
