Young Woman Didn’t Realise She Was Pregnant Until The Baby’s Head Popped Out

in Uncategorized

A young woman who had no idea she was pregnant was shocked to see a baby’s head when investigating stomach pain.

Charlotte Dubard, from London, gained almost a stone form her sugar cravings but it was only when she began suffering severe stomach cramps that she decided to check what was going on.

She used her phone to take a video of her vagina and was stunned to see her baby’s hair sprouting out. The brave 24-year-old gave birth to a healthy baby boy, Elias, and says boyfriend Miguel Angel couldn’t believe it.

She said: “When Miguel came home, he screamed ‘Oh my god you found a baby in the street’!” “I started bawling and said ‘This is ours’.”

Charlotte and Elias were brought to the hospital and put in intensive care to make sure they were both ok.

She said: “It was only once we got to the hospital that I really registered what had happened. “I was so traumatised from the birth I had barely registered Elias at all.

“But then when we were waiting for the doctor, Miguel said ‘Look he has your nose’ and that’s when I suddenly realised he was ours.”

The young woman feels incredibly lucky to have such a healthy baby despite smoking, drinking and working 14 hour days throughout her mystery pregnancy.

Charlotte had cravings for sugar all of a sudden and gained roughly a stone not even realising she was pregnant. She continued to take the contraceptive pill while pregnant and claims during the pregnancy her periods remained normal.

“I call him my miracle baby because he is so healthy after all I put him through. “Also, so many things could have gone wrong with me giving birth alone but it all went remarkably smoothly.

Nurses at the hospital said it could have ended very badly for Charlotte and Elias at home.

Charlotte added: “The midwives even asked me how I knew where to cut the umbilical cord because if I had done it wrong it could have been so dangerous.

Charlotte gave birth to Elias in her bath. “I have no idea how I knew exactly what to do, I guess instinct took over.”Charlotte says she didn’t even tell her mum straight away.

She said: “I actually didn’t tell my mum right away because she was working and I knew she wouldn’t be able to finish her shift if I told her. I waited until the next day and she was so shocked. But my family have been so supportive. They’re very strict Catholics and they see Elias as a miracle. My grandmother says he is a little angel.”

The couple were planning to relocate to the United States but since the pregnancy they have decided to remain at home.

This is why you shouldn’t crack your neck – woman paralysed due to ‘bad habit’

in Uncategorized

A paramedic who suffered a stroke after ‘cracking her neck’ has warned others about the risks associated with what’s commonly considered a  bad habit.

Natalie Kunicki, who works for London Ambulance Service (LAS), was watching films in bed with her friend after a night out on 4 March when she stretched her neck and heard a loud ‘crack’.The young paramedic went to sleep, but when she woke up just 15 minutes later unable to move her left leg and fell to the floor once she tried to walk.

In the early hours of the following morning, Natalie was rushed to hospital where a CT scan confirmed she had suffered a stroke. Natalie’s vertebral artery – a major artery in the neck – had burst, causing a blood clot to form in her brain and triggering a stroke, after she cracked her neck.

Natalie, whose left side was almost completely paralysed by the stroke, said the diagnosis was such a shock that she became ‘emotionless’ for days. Doing daily exercise helped Natalie recover where she regained enough movement in her leg, arm and hand. She was then discharged to her parents’ home in Harrow, London.

Now she is speaking out to warn people of the risks when cracking joints, and to make them aware that strokes can affect you no matter what your age.

Natalie, who moved from Canberra, Australia, to join the LAS in December 2017, said: “People need to know that even if you’re young, something this simple can cause a stroke. I wasn’t even trying to crack my neck. I just moved and it happened.

“I’m a paramedic and I didn’t ring 999 for 10 minutes because I thought it was too unlikely it would be a stroke when I should have known much better. Every minute more of your brain cells are dying, so don’t ever discount a stroke just because someone is young.

“People need to be more mindful when doing any chiropractic exercises or strenuous gym weights. I was in bed watching stuff with a friend when it happened.

I stretched my neck and I could just hear this ‘crack, crack, crack’. My friend asked ‘was that your neck?’ but all my joints crack quite a bit so I didn’t think anything of it. I just laughed.

“I fell asleep and when I woke up about 15 minutes later. I wanted to go to the bathroom but I could feel this leg in the bed and I was asking my friend if he could move his leg.

“He told me it was my leg but I was a bit tipsy so I wasn’t taking anything seriously and just thought ‘that’s a bit weird’. I got up and tried to walk to the bathroom and I was swaying everywhere. I looked down and realised I wasn’t moving my left leg at all – then I fell to the floor.”

However when Natalie was told it was in fact a stroke, she was floored by the diagnosis. She explained: “When the consultant told me I’d had a stroke I was in shock.

The doctors told me later that just that stretching of my neck had caused my vertebral artery to rupture. It was just spontaneous and there’s a one in a million chance of it happening.

“I don’t smoke, I don’t really drink, I don’t have any family history of strokes so it’s quite strange it happened to me when I was just moving in bed.

“I was in shock for about three days in ICU. I was a bit of a wet blanket. I didn’t really say much and I wasn’t engaging with anyone. I had no sense of humour.

“I was just completely shut off, trying to compute what had happened. People said I was a bit like a robot and didn’t show much emotion.

“But a couple of my friends from the ambulance service told me, ‘You have a week from the day of your stroke to snap out of this or we will snap you out of it. I was able to have my little pity party for a week but that’s it. They told me, ‘What’s done is done now – just work and do all the exercises.’

“They were fantastic and they would come in and do all the exercises with me. I think if I didn’t have them I would have been in my pity party quite a bit longer but instead I smashed through all the therapy goals.

“I just love my job and I want to get back to it. I’m so used to being busy and now I feel like I’m climbing the walls a bit. I definitely want to get back to work as soon as I can.”

Natalie continued: “I was trying to call 999 but I was dithering about it. There was a high chance the crew who turned up would be my friends and I didn’t want them to see me tipsy. I tried to go back to sleep but I couldn’t, so I called 999 and I didn’t recognise the crew who turned up.

“I think they did look at me at first like they thought I was just a classic drunk 23-year-old but I told them I was a paramedic and I knew something was wrong.

“They took my blood pressure and heart rate and they were both sky high. Then they did this test where they hold their finger in the air and you have to touch your nose then their finger. My hand went all over the place and I was thinking ‘oh no’. I knew something was going down.”

Natalie underwent three-hour surgery where doctors discovered her burst artery. While surgeons were able to repair Natalie’s artery with a stent, they couldn’t clear the clot in her brain which they feel will dissolve over time.

Natalie said: “I expected to wake up from this miracle surgery and everything would be fixed but my mobility was worse and they couldn’t clear the clot. At the start I couldn’t move my thumb and forefinger. I could kind of move my wrist up and down. I couldn’t lift my arm. I could bend my left leg but I couldn’t wiggle my toes.

“The doctors would do tests – I had to close my eyes and they would touch my left side but I couldn’t tell where they were touching. It was like when you have really bad sunburn and your skin is sizzling. I felt that all down my left side.

“I think I scared my consultant because after I woke up, she came in to ask how I was going – but I told her, ‘You should have killed me.‘ Depression is really common after a stroke because you lose so much of your independence and your dignity.

I had to have a nurse help me shower in a wheelchair. What 23-year-old needs someone to help them shower and wash their hair? It was just a bit surreal.”

Now she has recovered some movement and sensation, Natalie is hoping to be back to work for ‘light duty’ in six to 12 months.

Natalie said: “I was scared at first about being discharged, because my parents’ home has lots of stairs and I didn’t know how I was going to manage, but it’s gone well. I’ve recovered movement in my left side. I can walk but not for more than five minutes. I’m really clumsy. I can’t do up buttons, I find it too difficult. I can feel hot and cold now but I still feel a bit numb.

Being discharged and at my parents’ is definitely helping with my recovery because I had to do things for myself. I have to get dressed, make the bed and I can go to make a cup of tea. I’m definitely doing something right but it’s slow going.

It has been strange being on the other side but the ambulance crew who came out to me were amazing. They did a perfect job. They even stayed with me to hold my hand while I waited for my parents and blue-lighted me to the other hospital for my surgery, even though their shift had ended.”

As well as her determination to rejoin the LAS, Natalie is also committed to raising more awareness of strokes in young people.

Natalie said: “I have been called out to so many people having strokes and they’re always in their 70s or 80s. I have never been to a young person having a stroke. Mine was one in a million but a ruptured vertebral artery is actually quite a common cause of strokes in young people.

“They will be in the gym or doing something quite physical and it happens. Strokes are also quite common in kids. It was a shock for me. I thought as a professional I would have an idea but even I didn’t know. Normally if you’re called out to a young person, you wouldn’t do a test for a stroke.”

Natalie has been living with her parents Peter, 65, and Anne, 62, but they are due to move back to Australia in July.

Natalie said: “When I woke up from surgery my brother told me he’d set up a fundraising page and all my friends and colleagues have been sharing it. Eighty percent of the donations are from people I work with which means so much. It’s going to be so helpful.

“I really want to get back in my own flat and I really don’t want to have to move back to Australia. I love my work too much and I don’t want to leave them.”

Every parent should read this mom’s urgent warning about aerosol sunscreens

in Uncategorized

When going on a trip to the beach sunscreen is very important for the hot sun. Sunblock is also important, especially for young kids and toddlers even when it’s cloudy.

If you have sensitive skin then it doesn’t take long for the sun to burn even if you are only going outside for a few minutes. One should never underestimate the strength and danger of sun exposure.

After spending a day in the sun, mother Rebecca Cannon thought her one-year-old daughter was well protected after coving her daughter in SPF50 sunblock. However the toddler’s skin turned red and began to peel. Rebecca realised it wasn’t the sun that she needed to worry about so she wants to warn others.

Rebecca Cannon borrowed some sunscreen spray from her sister to use for Kyla as it was a pretty hot day in Newfoundland, Canada.

Rebecca thought the SPF50 sunblock would have been enough to protect her daughter’s face on a sunny day. Rebecca son realized that the SPF numbers on sunblock bottles aren’t reliable, after her daughter’s face began to blister.

Rebecca put sunblock on her daughter’s face before going outside but it wasn’t until the next morning that her daughter’s started to burn.

Her daughter Kyla’s face swelled up she was burned and had big blisters on her cheeks. Despite the fact that the toddler barely spent any time out in the sun that day.

As the day went on, she got a little redder and redder and the next morning she woke up and was swollen. She was bright red. There were blisters starting to pop up,” says Rebecca.

Rebecca decided to take her daughter to a hospital emergency room, the doctor confirmed that the girl had second degree chemical burns.

Rebecca couldn’t help but worry as no one in the family had any signs of sunburns at all. A dermatologist was quick to uncover the likely truth behind the situation.

Apparently the sunblock was the cause, doctors informed Rebecca that it was possible her burns were a severe allergic reaction to the sunblock. This meant there may have been some kind of dangerous chemical in it.

Thankfully, Kyla will likely not deal with long-term issues and also does not seem to have any scarring, despite suffering from the burns.

In an attempt to prevent it from happening to other children Rebecca wrote about the incident on Facebook:

The sunblock Rebecca Cannon used on her daughter is called Banana Boat Kids SPF50. Rebecca decided to write to the company and issue a complaint concerning the ill effects of their sunscreen.

After Rebeccas warning and several reports of babies developing serious chemical burns upon using Banana Boat sunscreens, Health Canada launched an investigation into the products.

The department of health received almost 200 complaints from Canadians about Banana Boat sunscreen products.

Following, a vast range of examinations there didn’t seem to be any reason for concern about the sunscreen products.

This incident was probably more freak rather than one that implicates the manufacturers. It’s possible that Kyla had a severe allergic reaction.

It’s important to make people aware about this story so this doesn’t happen to any child again.

Babies and young children can have allergic reactions or very sensitive skin, so testing before full coverage, so patch testing is all the more crucial!

Not all sunscreens are reliable, so you be sure to consult your doctor about which one is best for your child.

Pregnant sperm whale found dead with nearly 50 pounds of plastic in its belly – this has to stop

in Uncategorized

Some of us aren’t lucky enough to live close to the ocean but it’s something many of us dream about doing every summer.

However our oceans are suffering due to something that is used by us all every day — plastic. The quantity of plastic that floats in our beautiful seas is a shock.

The image of a dead sperm whale washed up on the shores of a beach portrays the seriousness of this when almost 50 lbs of plastic was found in its belly. There was also a foetus found in the whale’s stomach.

Just to put that into context 50 lbs can be compared to two big bags of dog food or a small bale of hay. But as plastic, floating around the stomach of a whale, must have been extremely painful.

This endangered species was found washed up on the shores of Porto Cervo in Sardinia, a popular Italian beach resort. During the last two years she is one of five whales who have died from plastics, according to The World Wildlife Fund.

“She was pregnant and had almost certainly aborted before she beached,” Luca Bittau, the president of the SeaMe group.Steps to ban single-use plastics./ In the Philippines, a Cuvier’s beaked whale was found washed up dead with 88 pounds of plastic in its stomach.

The whale wasn’t getting any nourishment from food because of the amount of plastic therefore it passed away from dehydration and starvation after vomiting blood, according to scientists.

Luca Bittau explains that veterinarians in Padua, Italy, will carry out various tests to determine the exact cause of death but it is likely related to plastic also. On average, 8 million metric tons of plastic enter the ocean every year.

Measures are being taken by cities and countries around the world to ban single-use plastics: The European Parliament has approved a law banning single-use straws, cotton balls, and cutlery by 2021.

Plastic is making our oceans sick and if this doesn’t make you stop and think, I don’t know what will. Every effort to cut our use of plastics, however small, helps.

Mom Says Family Was Kicked Out Of Movie Theater Because Her Son With Special Needs Was Laughing

in Uncategorized

It can be often be stressful for parents of children with special needs when going out in public. Mother, Jennifer Daly, from Chicago, knows this firsthand. One of her sons, Jonathan, aged 3, has a rare form of dwarfism and Daly said it is a struggle to get him out for an excursion.

Jonathan can’t go anywhere without his wheelchair or medical equipment, his excitement and enthusiasm comes out in sounds and noises as he is unable to speak. His mom is used to the stares and comments from others.

One Friday evening Jennifer decided to venture out with Jonathan and her other young son to watch Dumbo at their local movie theater.

Midway through the movie Jonathan began to giggle, laugh and make noises. Naturally his mother Jennifer smiled at his squeals and yelps of joy were adorable… but apparently, she was the only one.

Jennifer was not prepared for what was about to happen next.

A member of staff approached her in the seat about ten minutes later. The employee said there were noise complaints of an “ongoing disruption” — where Jonathan was at the center of these complaints.

I looked at her and said he did not cry, he giggled twice,” the shocked mother wrote. “I was told I immediately have to pack up to leave.”

I don’t understand why I am being kicked out,” she continued. “Someone’s cell phone was going off for over a minute, someone else was holding their phone up with their light on to video-record the movie, someone else was talking and I am being kicked out? Are you serious?”

When she returned home she was in such shock that she took to Facebook to explain what had occurred. Her post went massively viral with almost 5,000 shares in the space of a day.

Daly added that she cried as the family left the theater.

Never in my life have I ever been kicked out of anything, especially if I had done nothing wrong,” she wrote. “I was at the top back of the theater to try and stay out of anyone’s way.”

Woman’s Gums Look Like Strawberries Caused By This Rare Condition

in Uncategorized

When a patient visited a clinic with deadly mouth disease , doctors were shocked when they saw her teeth engulfed in a case of overgrown gum, which resembled a strawberry.

The woman informed specialists that she began to notice the increase in size six weeks prior and had also suffered from nose bleeds.

The 42-year-old also had several ulcers on her face, which were ‘eating away’ at her face, according to the case study, which was reported in the New England Journal of Medicine.

Dr Maryam Ghiasi treated the woman at Tehran University of Medical Sciences, Iran, and said lab tests confirmed she was suffering from granulomatosis with polyangiitis (GPA), with tests showing several nodules in her lungs.

In the report, she said: “Strawberry gingivitis is a rare manifestation of granulomatosis with polyangiitis, and its clinical presentation is highly suggestive of the disease.”

The 42-year-old’s teeth became encased in overgrown gum.

Speaking about the case, Dr Joseph Nemeth, a peridontist from the United States, said: “The tissue can look like strawberries. However, it is a symptom of a very serious vascular or blood vessel disease. If not caught early it can be fatal”

“As dentists we are often the first to actually see something like this because the patient might not be aware of symptoms other than what’s going on in their mouth. This is an extreme case. These cases are not common, but they do occur.”

“A blood vessel disease can be treated if caught early but if not, it can be fatal.”

GPA can be deadly if not treated correctly as it causes severe damage to the body and can stop the kidneys working properly. The patient didn’t return for a check up so doctors are uncertain what of the outcome.

It’s thought to be caused by a problem with the immune system, which makes it attack the blood vessels in the body. Although specialists are unsure exactly what the root cause is, they believe it is triggered by an infection or virus.

The rare disease can prove fatal, causing major damage to the body, including preventing the kidneys from functioning if left untreated.

There are a number of signs to look out for when trying to spot the deadly condition, such as fatigue, hearing loss, rashes and lumps, as well as diarrhoea, double vision and even blood in urine.

Catia Figueira and Michelle Gillingham were subjected to a torrent of abuse, which left them ‘petrified’.

When he was arrested, he explained to police that he’s ‘a rich man’ and had paid more money for his seat so he had ‘expected more courtesy’.

A court heard he called them ‘f***ing fat b****es’ and began shouting ‘this is f***ing ridiculous’ before he declared he would never fly from the airport again.

Grinnall attempted to pay the two victims off to avoid the case going to court, however they declined his offer.

He said: “He has been told his hand luggage was overweight and had lost his temper and started shouting.

“He shouted things like ”this is f*****g ridiculous’ and called both of them ”f*****g fat b*****s’. “These women were just doing their job and they were understandably petrified.”

Teen Wasn’t Permitted to Enroll in School Because Her Mom ‘Broke the Dress Code’

in Uncategorized

Many of us have encountered the outrageous stories about school dress codes. Usually, it applies to a teen being expelled for wearing shorts that were too short or wearing a prom dress that violated the rules.

Have you ever heard of a child not being admitted to a school based on what their parent was wearing? Joselyn Lewis claims thats exactly what happened when she tried to enroll her daughter at Madison High School, in Houston, Texas.

Initially, Lewis thought administrators had mistaken her for a student, but then they clarified, why she was not allowed on school property. Lewis was wearing a T-shirt dress with a graphic of Marilyn Monroe, flip-flops, and a head scarf.

Although it may not be what students are permitted to wear to school, she’s not certain why that matters at all.“She went on to say that she still couldn’t let me on the premises because I was not in dress codeand I still didn’t understand what that meant,” Lewis said.

“She said that my headscarf was out of dress code and my dress was too short.” But that didn’t make sense to Lewis either, since her dress had full coverage and even passed the “finger length test,” if that’s what they were basing it on.“I mean, I didn’t understand why my headscarf and my dress would conflict with me enrolling someone in school,” she explains.

Lewis demanded to see the school’s “parent dress code,” if Monroe High was going to turn her away on those grounds. However, there wasn’t one.“I wanted to see proof of where it says parents can come dressed a certain way, but [administrators] wouldn’t show me that,” she said.

Lewis refused to leave the premises and school officials called the police department. “They called them on me and I guess he was coming to tell me to leave, but I was already on the phone with the school board,” she shared.

Lewis says she was trying to enrol her daughter at Monroe to get her away from bullying at her current high school. Instead the mother Lewis ended up feeling like a victim of bullying.

The mom explains that she was actually in the process of getting her hair done at the time, which is why she had it wrapped in a headscarf. “I’m not saying that it’s a part of my religion, but it could have been,” she said, “[And] I just wanted to have it up. Who are you to say that I can’t wear my hair up? In a scarf? Who are you to tell me how to dress?

Social media users have been voicing their own opinions on the matter since this story has been making headlines. Many couldn’t see what the big deal was.“Looks like a dress to me,” wrote one Facebook user. “Pretty sure Old Navy sells them similar to that.

Others agreed with the school.”Dress appropriate when in public,” wrote another user. “Or stay home.”And others left some not-so-thinly-veiled criticisms (wrapped in a riddle).”I would have made a different choice,” wrote one user. “But your free to choose but never free from the consequences of your choice.”

It’s unclear where Lewis will be enrolling her 15-year-old now, but what is clear is that she is not a mom to be messed with.“I can wear what I want to wear,” she explains. “I don’t have to get all dolled up to enroll her to school. My child’s education, anyone’s child’s education should be more important than what someone has on, that shouldn’t matter.”

Video Goes Viral After Little Boy Finds Electric Razor And Attacks Sister’s Hair

in Uncategorized

Children are naturally curious which can often cause mischief. Most parents worry about what will happen when their little ones attempt to cut their own hair.

A little boy shaved his and his siblings’ hair off after finding an electric razor in their home. Teddy got his hands on his mum’s electric razor and, after giving himself a little trim, thought he’d extend the favour for his baby sister Eloise.

The little lad gave himself a fresh new hair style attacking his locks from the front. Eloise on the other hand wasn’t so lucky.

Teddy hacked away at his sister’s blonde locks starting from the nape of her neck and giving her an on-trend undercut which extends pretty much all the way up the back of her head.

Teddy left her with a cut which shall now be referred to as the ‘reverse monk’. Meanwhile, Eloise was in understandable emotional turmoil,

After wiping away her tears Stephie concedes ‘it’s only hair’ and adds: ‘OK it’s just hair and it’s going to grow back and Mommy’s OK. Why did you let your brother do that?’

Teddy answers: ‘She said she liked me doing that a lot and I did it and we wanted to show you.’

Although Stephie was horrified she couldn’t help but see the funny side. When Stephie asked her daughter if she liked her ‘new haircut’, the youngster simply replied: ‘No.’ Mum also discovered that Teddy has also given his younger brother Freddy a trim too.

Teddy’s haircutting has gone viral after his uncle Ian Hagadorn shared a video of his haircutting efforts on Twitter.
