Reasons why toddlers over the age of two should never nap during the day

in Trending

Parents have lots to juggle when it comes to raising their kids, one particular issue they often obsess over is sleep. Does their child get enough rest, or why won’t they take a nap? It just seems like it’s a constant concern.

While parents , particularly those of toddlers, don’t think about the effects of putting their little ones down for a nap during the day, it turns out this routine should be totally avoided.

Toddlers over the age of two who took naps during the day when they were younger, suffered from poor quality of sleep once they were older.

A study which was conducted discovered a link between naps and a child’s behavioral and physical health. Data was collected by researchers which observed napping in children under five-years-old, and the results were very interesting.

A link which showed napping during the day could cause poorer sleep quality after the age of two was discovered. Taking daytime naps could also result in long-term behavioral problems and health issues, such as developmental delays and childhood obesity.

Professor Karen Thorpe from Queensland University of Technology told Kidspot: “Parents should not assume that day sleep and night sleep are the same and therefore by giving them a nap, they’re getting more sleep, because that doesn’t happen.”

Once they no longer biologically need sleep during the day all you’re doing by making them nap is subtracting from night sleep because you disrupt it.

Celine Dion Says ‘Leave me Alone’ After Being Body Shamed For New, Slimmer Look

in Trending

Singer Celine Dion has slammed critics about her weight, highlighting that she feels “sexier” than ever following a picture of her at Paris Fashion Week looking too skinny which has been circulated online. In an interview on Tuesday, Dion addressed recent critiques of her big weight loss and new figure.

Dion posted a picture of herself to her Instagram from Paris Fashion Week, where she is pictured leaning against a wall in a metallic suit. Fans immediately noticed her slender frame, with one user commenting, “this is not a good picture of you makes you look old and way too skinny.”

Quero me sentir forte, bonita, feminina e sexy. Se eu gosto, eu não quero falar sobre isso. Não me incomode. Não tire fotos. Se você gosta, estarei aqui, se não, me deixem em paz.”. The 50-year-old singer urged her fans to stop body-shaming her. “I’m doing this for me,” she said of her new look. “I want to feel strong, beautiful, feminine, and sexy.” As for what other people have to say about it, Dion said, “if you don’t [like it], leave me alone.”

In her interview Dion also addressed the long-standing rumors about her alleged relationship with background dancer Pepe Munoz. Once again, Dion denied the reports, claiming Munoz is simply her “best friend” and affirming that she remains single. It has been three years since her husband and manager, Rene Angelil, died from cancer in January of 2016.

Dion added that she’s okay with people thinking that Munoz is her boyfriend. “We’re friends, we’re best friends,” she explained. “Of course we hug and hold hands and go out, so people see that. I mean, he’s a gentleman. He’s giving me his hand to go out,” she said. “I don’t mind because he’s handsome and he’s my best friend.”

Dion also took the opportunity to post a video announcing an upcoming visit to the U.K., the first performance she will be doing since announcing the end of her Las Vegas residency Celine, set to end in June of 2019.

Her comments come after she launched a gender neutral clothing line for children called Celinununu last year, which she created in order to give children a “chance to feel free to find their own individuality”.

It’s not that we’re hoping to shift gender norms with Celinununu,” she said.

I think that every child needs to have their own identity, to express themselves freely, and to not feel like they have to be like someone else.

Celine – who has three sons, eight-year-old fraternal twins Nelson and Eddy and 17-year-old René, with her late husband René Angélil – even says her twins love the items in the range.

My oldest son is 17, so no it’s not for him. Eddy and Nelson just turned eight and even though they’re twins, they are very different from each other. Both wear the line and they both think it’s great.

Woman Suffers Severe Eye Pain And Swelling, Finds Out She Has 4 Live Bees Inside Her Eyelid

in Trending/Uncategorized

Reports that a young woman from Taiwan was being treated by doctors for a swollen eye and were shocked to discover four tiny bees living under her left eyelid.

She experienced extreme pain in her eye while cleaning up a relative’s grave site. Apparently thats where they flew into her eye and had been living under her eyelid while feeding on the fluid from her tear ducts since.

The 29-year-old woman, identified only by her surname, He, was treated for unbearable eye pain at Fooyin University Hospital last week.

Doctors told CTS News that they had removed the bees after their surprising discovery calling the case a “world first”.

I saw something that looked like insect legs, so I pulled them out under a microscope slowly, and one at a time without damaging their bodies.” the hospital’s head of ophthalmology, Dr Hung Chi-ting, said during a press conference.

Ms He said that she had been pulling out weeds while tending a relative’s grave when she felt something fly into her eye. Initially believed it to be soil or dirt and rinsed her eye with water.

However, the pain only grew worse, and by evening her eye was badly swollen and streaming with tears.

Dr Hung said upon inspection of He’s eyes under a microscope, he saw the insects’ wriggling legs and managed to successfully remove all the bees alive.

The bees were identified to be Halictidae, a species commonly known as sweat bees for their attraction to salts from human sweat.

Sweat bees don’t typically attack humans unless pressed directly against their skin, but they are attracted to perspiration and lick it up to supplement their diet.

Boy Left With Terrible Injury To His Leg From Spider Bite ; Just Look At It

in Trending

A 9-year-old boy has been left with a gruesome hole in his leg after a suspected poisonous spider bite allegedly ate away at the flesh on his limb, leaving him susceptible to serious infection.

Bobby Cleary’s mother explains that her son first complained of itchy swelling on April 1, but they initially didn’t suspect anything serious.

Mum Emma Barnett, 34, said her son was bitten on the Monday and that by Thursday it had become itchy and swollen, so she treated it with some Savlon and ‘didn’t think much more of it’.

However his primary school teacher phone Emma got a phone call from Bobby’s after-school club on the Thursday. She was informed that her son was limping and the wound was weeping, so they dressed it and Emma arranged an emergency GP appointment.

The GP confirmed it was a bite but said not to worry as it didn’t appear to be infected. He said it was most likely caused by a gnat, but within a week he was left with an inch-deep hole in his leg from the poisonous spider bite.
Bobby was given an antihistamine, pain relief and his leg was bandaged before he went home.

The following day, Bobby’s grandmother was taking care of him, she had to call Emma to tell her that his dressing was filling with fluid, so they went to A&E. Emma said: “They dressed it again and gave him antibiotics so I felt better about it and thought that would be that.

Thank goodness they knew what they were doing.”

However, over the weekend things went from bad to worse for poor Bobby – and when his nan removed his bandage she saw the hole in his leg.

I panicked, I’ve never seen anything like it,” she said. “It was clear it wasn’t a gnat bite.

The family went off to A&E again and this time Bobby was given an IV drip to help flush the poison out of his system.

To complicate matters, when Bobby was a baby, he had bacterial skin infection celluitis in his eye, which means he is more susceptible to developing serious infections, such as sepsis.

Barnett said that as an infant, her son contracted an infection that now makes him more susceptible to developing sepsis, a potentially life-threatening condition caused by the body’s reaction to an infection.

Over the next few months she will have to monitor her son to ensure the wound doesn’t become infected. Emma says her son has been ‘amazing’ and is ‘dealing with the entire thing in his stride‘. Well, he’s certainly handling it better than I would.

Fate works in mysterious ways. Marc and Beth Hadden have two sons, Parker and Wil. They wanted more, but doctors said they wouldn’t be able to conceive anymore.

One evening, firefighter, Marc Hadden was first on the scene when a woman called 911 complaining of stomach pain. It didn’t take long for him to realize this wasn’t any old stomachache – the woman was in labor, but there was no time to get her to the hospital.

While Marc had saved dozens of lives during his time with the department, this was the first time he had ever delivered a baby. He was in awe as he helped bring this new life into the world. “She struggled from the minute she was put in my hands,” Marc recalled.

Overflowing with happiness and excitement, Marc called Beth to tell her the amazing news. Delivering the child gave him so much joy.

But then Marc learned that the baby girl, named Grace, had immediately been put up for adoption. He and Beth realized this was the strangest and most touching twist of fate, he realized exactly where she was meant to be.

Today Gracie is an adorable young girl who loves wearing bows and tutus, practicing gymnastics, and joking around with her older brothers. Marc and Beth have always been very open about how she came to be part of their family.

We told her pretty much from day one,” Marc said. “I’ve taken her to the back of the ambulance where she was born, so she knows — no doubt about it.

Little Gracie loves to tell people the story of how “my daddy delivered me in the back of an ambulance [and] helped me take my first breath.”

I’ve always wanted a daughter, and this is just amazing,” Marc said. While Beth also says, “Sometimes the best things in life happen in the blink of an eye, and you can’t let them pass you by.”

Rare image captured from birth which only occurs once in 80,000 deliveries

in Trending

Giving birth to a child is always one of the most spectacular things to occur in life. Despite it happening every single minute of every single day, no two deliveries are ever the same.

Jana Brasil is a photographer, located in Brazil. She captures the deliveries of babies in her area. Her job, is massively rewarding with regard to the things she gets to experience, earlier this year she captured a birth that’s extremely rare called an en-caul birth.

This occurrence happens when a child is delivered still completely encased in the amniotic sac. It only happens in about 1 in every 80,000 child births. Brasil was incredibly fortunate to be here and the photos are unlike anything you’ve ever witnessed.

During the birth, the baby can take on an almost look alien-like in the sac, which is totally harmless. The sac is simply removed by physicians or midwives. Its amazingly cool to witness.

Mother Monyck gave birth to Noah Valasco, who’s in this particular birth, was delivered at the Praia da Costa Hospital by c-section. Both being healthy and happy after the delivery.

The chances of having a caul birth via a C-section is even more rare than a natural birth, as the scalpel typically cuts into the sac in a C-section. That makes Noah’s birth that bit more special.

Brasil’s photos have been shared around the world due to the sheer magic in them.

People all around the world are reposting the photos and looking for us. I saw him being born. They lowered the screen so I could see. I cried a lot. It’s an emotion that has no size,” Monyck said .

Gary Sinise gives smart home to ex-Green Beret whose legs were blown off in Afghanistan

in Trending

Gary Sinise couldn’t prove himself anymore of a hero when he does something worthy of praise. He has been an advocate of strong support networks for soldiers and veterans, donating in the form of aid for those who require it.

Reputation as a truly great man is beyond any doubt as he seems determined to go down as one of the nicest men to ever grace Hollywood.

Tucson native and former Green Beret Sergeant Caleb Brewer almost lost all hope when both of his legs were severed in Afghanistan. Once he returned home, he faced difficulty moving on with his life. Thankfully Sinise offered him a glimpse of hope.

In 2012, Sergeant 1st Class Caleb Brewer joined the Green Berets, however while on deployment in 2015 he was seriously injured losing both his legs. Afterwards he also suffered from blood clots, infections, and a traumatic brain injury.

Despite all the trauma he managed to survive. In 2016 Brewer decided to retire. He is now aged 31 and lives in Tucson, Arizona. Initially he though struggled when it came to restoring normality to his life considering the change had been drastic and wasn’t easy to adapt.

Once Gary Sinise heard of his situation he immediately took action. The Forrest Gump star made sure that suitable housing would be something that Caleb didn’t have to worry about.

The actor reached out a helping hand through the Gary Sinise Foundation, encouraging Caleb to apply to the RISE (Restoring Independence Supporting Empowerment) program. This program helps to build specially-adapted smart homes and adapted vehicles for wounded vets.

In wasn’t take long before Brewer was approved for a smart home in Tucson, to assist in his every day life. On February 6, 2019 his home was ready.

The house included a smartphone-controlled functions such as checking who’s at the door, adjusting the volume of the stereo and opening and shutting the blinds, as well as tilted mirrors, pocket doors, and a host of other features.

Brewer said: “It’s incredibly overwhelming in a good way. It doesn’t feel real. I never would’ve expected it in a million years.”

Gary Sinise never ceases to amaze with his contributions to those heroes who need help the most but are sometimes too proud to ask for it. Most vets have spent the majority of their lives giving everything in sacrifice to their country.

Only 3 kids RSVP to autistic son’s birthday when mom hears deafening sound outside and completely loses it

in Trending

Bikers doesn’t have the greatest reputation and that’s just because some people have done certain things that gave it a bad name. You can’t blame people too much in their ignorance; images of the criminal biker gangs of the ’60s and ’70s may come to mind.

There were some bad guys out there doing illegal acts, but that doesn’t mean we should group all the bikers together as the same.

Nowadays, the term “biker gang” is generally used for groups of people who simply like to look after their bikes, exchange tips and tricks with each other, and drive around town as a club or membership community. From my view some bikers are of the nicest people around.

Before the end of the school year, a mother named Maranda Karna chose to do something special for Thoas her son. He was born with a congenital diaphragmatic hernia and has autism, which required a lengthy hospital stay as a newborn.

He was diagnosed when he was 4 years old but he is still like all other children and obviously his mother wanted to ensure he got a proper celebration with his 10th birthday coming up.

She gave invited 70 classmates, only to receive three RSVPs. Only one said he’d attend. Knowing that Thomas loves motorcycles, family friend Stephanie Lovejoy turned to Facebook to ask bikers to surprise Thomas for his birthday.

Maranda and her family were absolutely heartbroken. After everything Thomas had gone through, the last thing she wanted was for her sweet, loving son to feel rejected on his birthday. But not after long a family friend came up with a brilliant idea.

Knowing that Thomas had a love for motorcycles, family friend Stephanie Lovejoy went to Facebook to ask bikers to surprise Thomas for his birthday.

Meet up and show him that he is not different and that he is loved just as much as everyone else”, Stephanie wrote.

Stephanie and the family expected the turnout to be no more than 20 people. Nothing could have prepared her, Maranda, or Thomas for what was in comng their way. Over 300 bikers responded to the invitation by riding into Thomas’ birthday.

Words can not express how much this means to me and his dad”, Maranda Karna explains. The kind-hearted bikers brought birthday supplies such as balloons,a cake, and presents. Thomas even got a motorcycle jacket and the group chapter brought their badges to give to him and let him become a honoree member.

But it didn’t stop there. They also raised $1,1000 for the family’s charity and donated money to Autism Speaks and to CDH International Miranda Karna called the show of support “breathtaking.”

It’s been hard on him as his autism affects him socially and emotionally. Also battling other health issues stemming from a birth defect. It’s encouraging to see a community come together and show him the same thing that we try to teach him every day.”

As for how Thomas felt about how his birthday party turned out, he remarked, ”It makes me feel like one of the most special people on earth.”

5 young men repeatedly disturb elderly veteran’s meal — making him cry

in Trending/Uncategorized

Personally I feel, there is no way to repay all the brave men and women who risk their lives for our freedom and protection.Although one thing we can do is help them by praying for their safety, reaching out to their families, and supporting them, either financially or morally.

Sadly, there are too many military veterans who suffer in silence and are completely forgotten. When this elderly Vietnam veteran stopped at a restaurant for dinner, he saw a table of younger guys nearby.

He didn’t take any notice of them until the guys crowded his table one by one, continuously disrupting his meal.Soon, their conduct caught the attention of the entire restaurant as the veteran started to weep.

Lou Zezoff 74-year-old lives in Granite City, Illinois, along with his wife Annette.

Recently, they went out to eat at a Cracker Barrel and the couple was looking forward to having a good time together. As normal Lou was wearing his “US Navy Vietnam Veteran” cap when he went out.

The couple arrived at the restaurant and after being seated, Lou noticed five guys at a table. He wasn’t aware of it at the time, but the young men noticed Lou and his hat too, and they were going to make this one evening he’d never forget.

After Lou and his wife ordered, the young men sprung into action. Lou was just enjoying his meal quietly when one of the young men came over and stood at Lou’s table.

“I stood up,” Lou recalled as he came eye-to-eye with the guy. The young man threw out his hand wanted to thank Lou for his sacrifice.

The gesture caught Lou by shock; after all, it isn’t the type of scene that unfolds at dining establishments every day. Lou thought it stopped there, until the rest of the group stood up and showed their appreciation.

I knew they were military by their haircuts — high and tight,” Lou said, explaining how he knew they were service members.

In fact, the young men were Marines. When the first man went back to his table, another came over to Lou. The veteran stood up again and didn’t know what was waiting for him.

The second young man then said, “I want to thank you for all five of us,” pointing to the others. Lou thanked the young men for the lovely words and they continued chatting.

Lou pointed out his appreciation and was wishing every one of the men well with their future military experiences. From that point onward, he came back to his feast, believing that was all of it.

Shortly after Lou and his wife competed their meal, he requested for a waiter to bring over the check. When the waiter arrived to their table, he was holding the bill with a big smile on his face, and said, “This is your lucky day.”

The young Marines had paid for Lou’s dinner. There was also a message on the receipt. One of the Marines had wrote “Semper Fi” on the top with an “Oorah!” at the bottom.

Lou, completely taken by surprise, went over to their table and insisted they didn’t have to pay for his dinner. A simple “thank you” was quite enough.

You don’t have to do this. I know, being in the military, you don’t make a lot of money,” Lou told them. But the Marines stood firm.“They wanted me to know how much they appreciated me,” Lou said.

As Lou and Annette were about to leave, something else happened that left all other guests in awe.Knowing they were about to part ways, the young Marines wanted to give the veteran one last show of respect.

As the fifth man was off paying the bill, the other four approached Lou’s table and extended their hand to shake the veteran’s one last time, he describes, with tears in his eyes.

Individually each of them thanked and hugged.

They filed in front of my table, stood in line, and each one of them again put his hand out, shook my hand, thanked me, hugged me, and walked to my right”, Lou recalled.

The atmosphere in the restaurant, which once was noisy and chatty, was replaced with an quiet as others watched the Marines’ conduct.

After the fourth Marine gave Lou “the sharpest salute” he’d ever seen, they turned and walked out. Lou was in ”awe” and felt the deepest gratitude for the men who so emphatically expressed their appreciation for his service.

The room got very quiet. Everyone was looking,” Lou said, wiping a tear from the corner of his eye. “Sorry … I still tear up when I talk about this. …”

Others stood and payed their respects.Lou couldn’t help but turn to his wife, who said he better sit down and catch his breath after the amazing moment. Lou’s wife Annette was moved by the scene.

It just speaks volumes for the military. I thought of my son, who is retired Air Force, and the people who thank him for his service. It’s rewarding to see that the military is so strong and so polite.

According to Belleville News, the five Marines were later named as Kevin Morris, Val Diaz, Eric A. Morales, Victor M. Andrade Gomez, and Elijah Reynolds… all private first class.

When the paper reached out for comment, they simply said it was the right thing to do.“He fought for us. Now it’s our turn,” said the 21-year-old Pfc. Diaz, from Texas.

Lou Zezoff served in the Navy from 1959 to 1963. During Vietnam, Lou, an E5 (Petty Officer Second Class), served on the aircraft carrier USS Coral Sea in 1961 and ’62.

He was designated a parachute rigger, but served as a plane captain. He was responsible for a plane from pre-flight checks until it returned to the ship.

After the service, when Lou returned to a civil life, he continued to serve as a police officer for 32 years. He became a detective in the 1970s, then later worked court security with the U.S. Marshal’s Service before he would be retiring in 1996.

Lou Zezoff’s narrative tells us how important it is to show our appreciation for those who have served and that even the smallest gesture can make a big impact.

These young Marines act at the restaurant certainly made a mark on this veteran’s life, as can be seen below.

These brave young men and women deserve our respect and gratitude as it’s the least we do for those who risk their lives in exchange of our freedoms and protection!

We should be thankful for what our veterans have accomplished for all of us. Their commitment to our nation is a great sacrifice which caused great distance from their loved ones.
